We had an amazing experience with Willy’s tour company. Captain Carlos and firstmate Nana were very professional. We went with our teenage children, and these guides were very patient with them. You do have to realize that this is a very long boat trip, but the boat is relatively comfortable. We spent two hours getting to the location and many boats, close to 20, were present in three large circles. There was a police boat monitoring the area, making sure the boats were safe. Apparently, there is no swimming with the sharks if only one is present with that many boats. Although the site seemed chaotic, it was more like organized chaos. we dove twice in pairs each time with a guide. Each dive, we encountered two large whale sharks and were able to swim alongside them. Afterwards we went to a very crowded reef and snorkeled in an area with extremely poor visibility. Then we had delicious ceviche on a remote part of the island. I would say the tour company gets five stars for their execution, but the trip in general is a four star experience given the long boat ride, popularity of the activity, and murkiness of the snorkel reef portion.

Went on an amazing whale shark tour with Captain Carlos and Guide Densis. As a former professional guide, captain, dive instructor, and environmental educator, I have a good background to judge the experience. The trip was fun, very safe, relaxed, and incredibly enjoyable. The vessel was clean, dry, and a joy to ride in. We saw dolphin pods, manta rays, Fl, aiming, and of course whale sharks. They served us a variety of drinks, sandwiches, the best ceviche and guacamole ever, prepared in front of us. We had a day we will never forget, especially after planning this trip for two years. It couldn’t have been better. I’m sorry I don’t take pictures cause I’m too in the moment enjoying whatever it was happening. But I’m sure everyone else around me was taking pictures.
